The New South Side Tax Zone Aims To Boost Development
On January 12, the San Antonio City Council approved the establishment of the Lone Oak Tax 
Increment Reinvestment Zone (TIRZ) to stimulate development and spur economic growth on 
the city's south side.

The new TIRZ includes parts of five zip codes.
Zip Codes included:78203: Beacon Hill, Denver Heights
78204: Dignowity Hill, Government Hill
78207: Lone Oak (TIRZ center)
78211: Prospect Hill
78214: Five Points
The zone extends from Zarzamora Street to the south of Hwy 90 and from W.W. White Road to 
the east of the Poteet-Jourdanton Freeway.
Lone Oak TIRZ is expected to generate approximately $25 million over the next 26 years.
The TIRZ will use that money to fund infrastructure improvements such as drainage, sidewalks, 
streets, and more. 
The TIRZ will also provide incentives for development projects, including grants, loans, and tax 
reductions.
